Space, displace and bingo!
It's a crazy busy time of year in Canberra. Try these for size:
Thursday 17 - Saturday 19 March: Improvised theatre, The Displaced, at the Street Theatre, a favourite venue, and a show that is genuinely unique: what happens on stage has never happened before and will likely never happen again.
Sunday 20 March: Stars and stuff at the Tidbinbilla Deep Space Communications Centre open day.
Friday 25 March: Bingo! Fundraising night for the South Canberra Youth Wind Orchestra. I've never played but it sounds like fun. At St Mary McKillop College gym, Wanniassa campus, at 7 for 730. BYO snacks and drinks.
Friday 25 - Sunday 27 March: Old book goodness at the Lifeline Bookfair, EPIC. Always good guilt-free bargains to be had. Bring a wheelbarrow.
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March: Flickerfest - the third short film festival in a month, but this one's at Dendy in comfy seats with choc-tops.
Planning ahead? Put Sunday 1 May in the diary - the annual Collector pumpkin festival. Start growing your pumpkins now for the heaviest or best-carved pumpkin competition.
