Outing some outings

Dances and Chances - the National Film and Sound Archive has a bunch of screenings on Thursday nights. Some are a bit screen-geek but there are a couple that I like. There's one with electronic guy Fourthstate looking at the 'secrets of programming' dance music - that's on 17 May. Then there's a blast from the GenX past with a couple of episodes of 'raunchy' Chances on 31 May. I didn't see it on TV so this might be my big chance. Harhar.

RPS - thought I might try my hand at the rock, paper, scissors championships at the Irish Club on Friday 18 May. Winners get a trip to the Gold Coast woo hoo. Do you play your hand after the second or third fist-shake?

Fair venue - the Girl Guides are having a fete in the gardens of Government House this Saturday 6 May from 10-2. Nice way to see the gardens and tread on some vice-regal lawn.

Plug alert - Canberra Choral Society sings Te Deums x 3 plus Bach's Magnificat at Canberra Girls' Grammar Saturday 6 May at 7.30 pm. PS - they need more men who can sing!

Rumour mill - the National Capital Authority are apparently planning a winter version of Summer in the Capital. There may be an ice-skating rink involved. Bring on the scarves-n-gloves!
